President & GM
Max Schnoedl is Springbrook’s President and General Manager, overseeing all areas of strategic and operational growth for the business. Prior to his current role, Max held several leadership positions with Accela, where he served as COO, CFO and CSO, helping the company double in size.
Before joining Accela in 2014, Max served as Vice President in Deutsche Bank’s strategy and technology groups, and worked across the bank’s global offices in San Francisco, New York, Moscow and Frankfurt. Max started his career in government, as a cabinet member of Austria’s Federal Minister of Science.
Max holds a Ph.D. from the University of Vienna, Austria, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He also serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BRZ GmbH, a leading European e-government provider with $250+m in revenue.
Head of Customer Support
Debby Gretz is Springbrook’s Head of Customer Support. Having served in several key roles for Springbrook across Delivery and Support over the past 10 years, Debby has a passion for providing superior customer service.
Prior to Springbrook, Debby held various leadership positions at ACS (Affiliated Computer Services), a Springbrook partner, including Director of Client Services. In this position, she was responsible for directing the ongoing development and support of the ACS Financial, Payroll and Utility Billing Systems, involving 600 clients with over 2,550 implemented solutions.
Debby studied at the University of Minnesota.
Head of Sales and Marketing
Doug Smith is Springbrook’s Head of Sales and Marketing, driving revenue for the business. Prior to his current role, Doug directed Product Management for the Springbrook platform.
Before joining Accela in 2017, Doug served as the Director of Product Marketing for Epicor’s retail and distribution divisions. Doug also served as Director of Product Management for Epicor’s retail group for 10 years. While at Epicor, Doug also managed strategic large account sales and served as the national partnership manager.
Prior to working in the software industry, Doug served the United States Air Force as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps. Doug also worked in Little Rock, Arkansas as a plaintiff’s attorney. For several years Doug owned and managed a small retail business. Doug holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
Head of Professional Services
Eric Wells is Springbrook’s Head of Professional Services, overseeing all areas of Springbrook’s managed services and implementation business. He joined in April 2015 when Springbrook acquired SoftRight; prior to that, Eric had been a member of the SoftRight leadership team for nearly 5 years and held several key roles, including Software Engineering Manager and Client Services Manager. In that capacity, he managed SoftRight’s implementation division, driving 300% growth in projects over 2 years.
Prior to SoftRight, Eric was the Software Engineering Manager at Sterling Commerce, an IBM Company. Eric also served as a Senior Consultant at TR2 Consulting in their CPG practice and Consultant at AppNet in their SAP/Great Plains ERP practice.
Eric graduated cum laude from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Head of Engineering
Jim D’Angelo is Springbrook’s Head of Engineering, leveraging technology to capitalize on business opportunities. He joined Springbrook in January 2017, working across all areas of Springbrook’s and Accela’s payments products.
Prior to that, he owned and operated a software development consulting business with the mission of bringing better practices and methodologies to software development, product management, and executive teams in the Portland area. He also served as an engineering leader for DISA, building and maintaining applications to support global 24/7 operations for the US Air Force’s Air Mobility Command.
Prior to that, Jim served in the United States Air Force as air traffic controller and received numerous awards for his leadership and service in Oklahoma, Tokyo and Iraq. Jim studied Mathematics, Computer Science and Administrative Leadership at University of Maryland University College and the University of Oklahoma.
Head of Product Management
Ken Hoffmann is Springbrook’s Head of Product Management, responsible for crafting and executing product strategy and new feature development. Prior to his current role, Ken directed product management for the Springbrook and Accela payments platforms.
Ken previously served as Director of Engineering for Viewpoint Construction Software’s flagship Vista product, the world’s leading financial software platform for the construction industry. Prior to 2015, Ken served in a variety of roles at Springbrook Software in both the Product and Engineering organizations, including Technical Product Manager and Engineering Manager.
Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Western Washington University.
Head of Springbrook Northeast
As Head of Springbrook Northeast, Rick oversees all aspects of the business for Springbrook’s Northeast customer base, including strategy and day-to-day operational management. Prior to his current position, Rick played a key role on Springbrook’s Product Management team, focused on Northeast product strategy. Rick joined the company in 2015 and has also served as Director of Delivery and Director of Business Operations.
Prior to joining Springbrook, Rick spent 6 years as Head of Operations for SoftRight, a leading Massachusetts based software company providing financial solutions to local governments. During his time at SoftRight, Rick was instrumental in scaling the operations of the company across all areas of the business.
Rick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH and an Executive MBA from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
